Controllable consumers & § 14a EnWG
Since 01/01/2024, new rules apply for wallboxes, heat pumps & more.
- Controllable consumption devices (steuVE) with >4.2 kW must be registered: wallboxes, heat pumps, battery storage, air conditioning units.
- Attention cascading: Individual devices under 4.2 kW can exceed the threshold in total.
- Guaranteed connection: The grid operator can no longer reject the connection.
- Grid fee reduction: Module 1 (approx. €110–190/year) or Module 2 (percentage energy price reduction).
- Grandfather clause: Systems before 01/01/2024 are exempt but can voluntarily switch.
